Tres metros Sobre el Cielo,
the Worst Movie I’ve Ever Seen

After I underwent the torture of the presentation on Wednesday, the comparison essay on Thursday, and the Korean and Spanish quizzes on Friday, I can finally embrace the joy of Christmas. HOWEVER, after we finish our Spanish quiz, our teacher showed us a movie called Three Steps Above the Sky (Spanish: Tres metros Sobre el Cielo). It was not until that day that I finally knew a terrible movie can ruin a day. I rolled my eyes several times, which I haven’t done it before. I could barely finish watching it without taking deep breaths countless times. I was extremely upset after spending two hours watching it, so I spent another two hours complaining about this movie with my friends. (I spent 4 hours on this silly movie🤬, and I started to think I am kinda silly right now……)

The main actor, Hache, witnessed his mother’s affair, and ever since, he becomes violent, rebellious, and rude. The main actress, Babi, who was born in an upper-class family is an arrogant and feisty girl. There are several reasons that I HATE this movie. First, the protagonists make no improvement in this relationship. Hache remains violent. He doesn’t learn to control his temper throughout the whole movie. And his violence and rebellion also affect Babi. After Babi started to date Hache, she once punched a girl to the ground, which is not her style and also totally illogical. She could never win that girl if you really watch the terrible film (unless someone maximizes her protagonist halo)

Next, the movie doesn’t explain almost all the incidents completely. One of the most important incidents in the movie is the affair of Hache’s mother. The movie just mentions the result of it—Hache’s personality changes like violence and rebellion; then how does Hache deal with these variations? Nothing. One of the silliest scenes is that Hache saw his mom and the other man on the street and he lost his temper. After Babi comforted him, he told Babi about his mom; however, the only thing Babi cared about was that if she was the only person who knows this secret except for him and his mom. I was like “?_?” This is not the point at all, lady! And the discussion of this incident just stops right here, which nearly drives me crazy. There are still numerous bugs I want to roast. I didn’t watch the last scene when Hache tries to convey some philosophy about life. Do not try to use a lame plot to convey something significant, it doesn’t work. Although the main characters are hot, and some of the scenes are beautiful (only the scenes), I would give this movie a -3/10.

If you hate someone who you can’t fall out with, please, please recommend this movie to him or her. It’s the best way to harm a person without physical and verbal attacks. The only drawback is that he or she might think you have terrible taste. But you can successfully ruin his or her day, or even a whole weekend.

⚠️The above is sheerly a personal suggestion. Only for reference. ⚠️
